I have the good fortune to live in Maine where I am constantly inspired by the woods that surround our small cabin and the lake nearby. My commute every morning is a very short walk to my studio in a tree house, 15 feet above ground. I work primarily in wax and oil, both cold and hot. I can add and remove layers, I can dig and uncover and I can work with translucency in order to reach far into the distance. Maine winters are long and that is when I develop each painting working with memory, feeling and paint.
